School Terrorism Awareness and Response Exercise JRIC Overview Video
• Saturday, May 16th, 2009, from 8:30am to 4:00pm
• To be held on-site at El Rancho High School, 6501 South Passons Blvd, Pico Rivera, CA 90660
• A combined training and exercise event
• Focused on the issues surrounding a terrorist attack on a school
Exercise Format:
• Morning workshop addressing various topics related to terrorist attacks on children, emergency response plans, and attack prevention
• Afternoon mock school takeover and hostage scenario, with option to participate as hostage or observe emergency responders resolve the takeover
• Post-exercise debrief to share participant observations and experiences from their various perspectives
