The purpose of this memo is to formally announce the next meeting of the HIFLD Working Group, which is scheduled for 9-10 July 2009 and will be held at the San Diego State University (SDSU) Campus in San Diego, CA. This meeting is designated to bring together Sector Specific Agency (SSA) Leads and Defense Critical Infrastructure Program (DCIP) Sector Lead Agencies (SLAs) for the identification, acquisition and use of common homeland geospatial data/applications for shared use in the Transportation Sector among National and DoD Infrastructure, National Response Framework (NRF) and topics of general interest to the geospatial Homeland Defense/Homeland Security (HD/HLS) Emergency Response Community throughout the meeting. The format will be similar to HIFLD WG at San Antonio with a combination of presentations and exhibition booths. We are currently targeting various groups for participation in this meeting, including but not limited to: Homeland Security Presidential Directive-7 Communities of Interest and Data Sources, Defense Critical Infrastructure Protection, National Sector Specific Agencies (SSA) -Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and United States Coast Guard (USCG); DoD Sector Lead Agents (SLA)- US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM); Department of Transportation (DOT); and Transportation Sector areas of the National Infrastructure Protection Plan Infrastructure Data Taxonomy- Aviation, Railroad, Road, Maritime and Mass Transit.

The HIFLD Working Group is a coalition of Federal, state and local government organizations, and supporting private industry partners who are involved with geospatial issues related to Homeland Defense, Homeland Security, Civil Support, and Emergency Preparedness and Response. HIFLD members share the goal of identifying and facilitating acquisition of authoritative homeland infrastructure geospatial data for common use by the HD/HLS Community, as well as promoting domestic infrastructure geospatial information sharing, protection, collaboration, and knowledge management.

The full agenda for this session will be distributed to the HIFLD Working Group membership by 15 June 2009. This meeting will be held at the UNCLASSIFIED-FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY (FOUO) level. There will be no requirement to pass clearances; however, advance registration through the HIFLD Website (https://www.hifldwg.org) is required no later than 6 July in order to attend this event.
